History
Erindale, like most of the villages that now form the greater Mississauga area, is a historical village located in the middle of Mississauga. Dundas street runs along the south side of Erindale’s border. The Credit River runs along just east of the center of Erindale’s old village. The University of Toronto has their Mississauga Campus located just on the West river bank of the Credit river. The interesting part in the boundaries of Erindale is the different names set by the Toronto Real Estate board and Peel board of education. In the Peel board of education, this boundary (map) is actually considered to be Woodlands secondary family of schools. Peel board of education’s boundary for Erindale Family of schools actually falls under TREB’s ‘Erin Mills’ and ‘Sheridan’ districts. This is also home to Mississauga’s infamous Erindale Park which is a huge green space open to the public for picnics and BBQ’s as well as the beginning/end of the Culham Trail. On the south part of the district hosts some prestigious and private golf courses: Mississauga Country Club as well as the Credit Valley golf and country club.
